Each week this season, I have been grading every one of the New York Jets‘ starting quarterback’s plays from his most recent game to get a 0-to-100 grade on the quality of his performance.
In his first game back in Southern California since he was a member of the Trojans in 2017, Sam Darnold led the Jets to a shocking 23-20 upset over the Rams with a steady, consistent outing, completing 22 of 31 passes for 207 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions.
How well did Darnold truly play? Was he just a game manager dumping the ball off to wide-open targets, leaving big plays on the field?
