COLUMBIA, S.C. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Former New York Jets player Phillip Adams is suspected of killing five people before taking his own life early Thursday morning in South Carolina, according to a source briefed on the investigation.
The 33-year-old is accused of killing Dr. Robert Lesslie, a prominent doctor, and his family at their home in Rock Hill.

The source, who spoke with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said Adams’ parents live near Lesslie’s home and he had been treated by the doctor.
Adams played in 78 NFL games over five seasons for six teams.
