The New York Jets waived former first-round pick Quinton Coples on Monday.
The linebacker, selected 16th overall in the 2012 draft, has seen his playing time steadily decrease this season under coach Todd Bowles.
Coples was drafted by former coach Rex Ryan.
Coples had 16.5 sacks in his first three seasons playing for Ryan, including a career-best 6.5 in 2014.
