Florida HC Dan Mullen ‘feels bad’ for Jachai Polite after New York Jets flameout

New York Jets third-round pick Jachai Polite had a short-lived career with Gang Green. He was cut from the 53-man roster and is now part of the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad.

He was drafted by recently-ousted general manager Mike Maccagnan. Therefore, it’s not surprising to see the new regime cut bait. His college coach, Dan Mullen, shared his disappointment in how Polite’s NFL career started. The University of Florida head coach hopes the edge rusher can grow from this experience.

“I like Jachai, and obviously I’m disappointed; I’m sad for him,” Mullen said via Edgar Thompson of the Orlando Sentinal.
