Fitzpatrick throws 3 late picks as Jets playoff dreams end

ORCHARD PARK -- Rex Ryan kept the Jets out of the playoffs for the fifth year in a row.

All the Jets needed to do was defeat their old coach in Buffalo and they would have reached the postseason, but instead, when it mattered most, Gang Green collapsed, losing 22-17. Ryan Fitzpatrick, who had been so clutch for the Jets during their five-game winning streak heading into Sunday's game, threw three killer interceptions in the fourth quarter that essentially ended the Jets' playoff hopes.

Because the Steelers also won, the Jets were eliminated from the postseason after finishing with a 10-6 record.
