Ex-Patriot comes from nowhere to save Jets’ season

Kenbrell Thompkins hauls in a long pass in front of Dallas' Byron Jones.

ARLINGTON, Texas — A former Patriot saved the Jets’ season Saturday night.

Ex-New England wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins came up with one of the biggest plays of Gang Green’s entire year in the fourth quarter, hauling in a 43-yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick with 53 seconds left that paved the way for a 19-16 victory over the Cowboys.

Thompkins’ clutch play down the right sideline and along the Jets’ bench set them up at the Dallas 26-yard line, and Randy Bullock followed with the decisive field goal three plays later to keep their playoff hopes alive.
