BOCA RATON, Fla. u2010 Mark Sanchez may just end up being the Denver Broncos' starting quarterback this season. And it's a surprise even to the defending Super Bowl champions.
Sanchez wasn't on Denver's radar until recent weeks, when they surprisingly saw Brock Osweiler bolt as a free agent to the Houston Texans. It was around that time when Broncos general manager John Elway and coach Gary Kubiak started researching the idea of acquiring Sanchez.
Sanchez was property of the Philadelphia Eagles less than two weeks ago. He was acquired via trade in exchange for a 2017 draft pick on March 11.
