The struggling Jets offense received another blow on Wednesday.
Wide receiver Eric Decker is being placed on injured reserve with a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, ending his season. The Jets put off placing Decker on IR two weeks ago when his shoulder condition worsened, but it did not improve.
The 29-year-old is going to have surgery to repair the shoulder, so there is no chance of him returning this season.
Decker played in the Jets’ first three games, catching nine passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. He first injured the shoulder in Week 2 against the Bills.
