The spotlight was planted firmly on Eric Decker last year.
The Jets signed the wide receiver to a five-year, $36.25 million before last season, one of the few players then-general manager John Idzik spent money on. He was expected to boost the Jets’ offense, which had been searching for playmakers.
A year later, it would be too far to call Decker an afterthought, but he has ceded the spotlight to this year’s big acquisitions, like cornerback Darrelle Revis and fellow wide receiver Brandon Marshall.
That’s fine with Decker, who had his share of frustrations in his first season in New York after leaving the Broncos.
