Doug Middleton gave himself one day. The bad news came — the young safety had torn his pectoral muscle in the preseason opener last summer against the Titans, ending his season before it could even begin — and he allowed himself until the following morning to wallow in the disappointment.
When he woke up the next day, he had moved on. His goals for the upcoming year would have to be different.
“Go back and finish school,” the 24-year-old Middleton recalled in an interview with The Post this week.
