In Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns at Metlife Stadium, the Jets lost two big players on defense: the first-year linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin to a bad concussion and Antonio Cromartie to a sprained knee. Both initial diagnoses were worse (Mauldin a neck injury and Cromartie a possible ACL tear), but neither early diagnosis was true. However, even with it looking better for both players than it looked on Sunday, they may still miss a significant amount of time.
The Jets defense stepped up to the plate after losing Cromartie early in Sunday’s game. Although the defense started slow, Buster Skrine and Marcus Williams stepped up.
