David Harris active for Jets' opener against Bengals

David Harris’ streak remains intact.

The Jets’ veteran linebacker is active for today’s season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Harris — referred to as the “glue” and quarterback of the defense — suffered a shoulder injury against the Giants in Week 3 of the preseason. Though officially listed as questionable for today’s game, it seemed likely that he would be able to suit up.

Known for his toughness and durability, Harris hasn’t missed a game since 2008.

On Friday, he told reporters that his shoulder is still “sore and tight” but initially feared the injury was a broken collarbone.
