A chipper Darron Lee offered a nice greeting to his Twitter followers Wednesday after the Jets fired general manager Mike Maccagnan.
The Jets linebacker penned, “Good afternoon everybody,” along with a rosy-cheeks emoji, in a tweet that has since been deleted.
Lee, a first-round pick of Maccagnan’s in 2016, was expected to be traded or released after the Jets recently decided to decline his fifth-year option. It is unclear how the power shift, which is being led by head coach Adam Gase, will affect Lee’s future with the team.
Earlier in the day, the Jets announced they had relieved Maccagnan of his duties after four seasons in New York.
