DETROIT — Matthew Stafford was already having a miserable time of it, and that was before Darron Lee broke the Lions’ backs with a 36-yard pick-six in the Jets’ out-of-nowhere 48-17 massacre of the Lions.
It was the Jets’ first defensive touchdown in 74 games, dating to 2013.
“Who’d I tell I was gonna break that curse?” Lee asked. “I told somebody I was gonna be the first one to score the first defensive touchdown. I told somebody. … Glad it’s over.”
“I would have liked to have gotten it, but I’m happy for D. Lee,” cornerback Morris Claiborne said.
