Christian Hackenberg may be a starting quarterback again.
The Jets’ second-round bust is headed to the Alliance of American Football (AAF), which announced on Friday that the league had signed him.
Hackenberg, 23, was traded to the Raiders this offseason and has bounced from Oakland to Philadelphia to Cincinnati. The Bengals released Hackenberg from their practice squad on Monday in favor of Connor Cook.
Hackenberg, drafted in 2016, has yet to play a down in the regular season.
The AAF is an eight-team league that will begin in February and was launched as a direct competitor for the XFL.
