Regardless of whether Ryan Fitzpatrick or Geno Smith starts most of the Jets’ games this year, either one will need a big assist from the running game. And the leader of the Jets ground attack, Chris Ivory, wants to take his game to another level this year.
“I’m trying to get over 1,000,” Ivory said.
One thousand yards isn’t what it used to be, but Ivory has never gotten there. He’s played five years in the league, starting as an undrafted free agent with the Saints. He’s spent the last two seasons with the Jets after John Idzik traded for him in 2013.
