The New York Jets finally have a franchise quarterback after Sam Darnold fell to third overall in 2018. As a result, former Jet Chad Pennington thinks the Jets should go with a defensive star with the third overall pick in 2019.
“Obviously if the quarterback goes within the first two picks you have a better chance of getting that edge rusher, whether it be Josh Allen, whom I’m familiar with, living in Lexington and with Josh playing at the University of Kentucky, or Nick Bosa,” Pennington said to Eric Allen of newyorkjets.com. “It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.
