EAST RUTHERFORD -- You never want to read too much into the preseason. It's half football. Starters rarely play, and seldom coaches game plan. This is more about evaluating young players on the bottom of the roster.
But following the Jets' 32-31 loss to the Giants Saturday night at MetLife Stadium, one thing became abundantly clear:
Yes, the Jets are, in fact, that bad. Especially on offense. Pick a position, and the unit was likely utterly dreadful in the exhibition outing.
Christian Hackenberg looked completely lost, and in no way, shape or form ready to start Week 1.
