Luvu started and was disruptive, recording two tackles – including one in the backfield. That comes on the heels of Luvu playing mostly second-team reps but occasionally mixing in with the starters. He did take a penalty on Thursday night, but between his use and his play, things are looking good for Luvu.
Myers drilled a 58-yard field goal in the first quarter and booted the ensuing kickoff through the back of the end zone. He followed it up with a 43-yard field goal in the third quarter. All of those will endear him to the Jets, who were already inclined to give the more experience guy the nod over Taylor Bertolet, who has never kicked in an NFL game.
