The quarterback carousel took a stunning turn Wednesday when Brock Osweiler spurned the Broncos for the Texans, adding more drama to the situation around the Jets and their free-agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Osweiler received a four-year, $72 million contract from the Texans, according to multiple reports. That has an effect on Fitzpatrick in two ways.
One, the market for starting quarterbacks continues to be eye-popping. A week after Sam Bradford got a deal from the Eagles that will pay him $18 million per year, Osweiler gets the same, despite starting just seven games in his career and not playing all that well.
