Brandon Marshall tells Geno Smith’s side of fight

Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall said quarterback Geno Smith does not deserve blame for the altercation that left Smith with a broken jaw last week.

Appearing Monday morning on ESPN’s “Mike and Mike,” Marshall said he witnessed the incident between Smith and linebacker IK Enemkpali and Smith did nothing wrong. There have been reports Smith stuck his finger in Enemkpali’s face and taunted him before the linebacker punched him.

“Did he point his finger in his face? No, he didn’t,” Marshall said. “Geno Smith, he didn’t do anything wrong that day. It’s just an unfortunate situation.
