Bowles should fire this coach and learn a lesson that Rex Ryan hasn’t

Rex Ryan is viewed largely as a defensive coordinator masquerading as a head coach, and Todd Bowles is in danger of heading down that same path. That is why if he is still has a job beyond the 2016 season, Bowles might want to hire a real defensive coordinator so he can focus more on being a head coach. Right now, he’s failing at both jobs.

Kacy Rodgers is listed as the Jets’ defensive coordinator. But in reality he is a defensive coordinator the same way Dennis Thurman was during Ryan’s tenure as the Jets head coach. Thurman might have held the job title, but it was no secret that Ryan was still designing and calling the defensive game plans.
