Bill Belichick's strange overtime coin toss decision earned him plenty of unflattering press -- including the Daily News' back page -- since the Patriots' 26-20 overtime loss to the Jets, but the veteran head coach remained steadfast that he made the correct choice. Belichick unconventionally opted to kick at the start of overtime, and the Jets scored a touchdown on their first possession of the extra period to win the game.
"I clearly thought that was our best opportunity, so that's why we did it," the coach said Monday. "I didn't like the way it worked out, but to me that was the right decision for our team at that time.
