Yesterday, the free-spending Jets announced yet another move when they confirmed that linebacker Joe Mays had been signed to a contract. Jets fans might not know too much about Mays so I’ve been watching game footage to try and assess what he brings to the table.
The 29-year old Mays is listed at 5’11” and 245 pounds was a sixth round pick out of North Dakota State in 2008. He has played for four different teams during his seven year career, starting a total of 38 games. Last season, he was with the Chiefs, but missed the first half of the season following a wrist injury in preseason.
