George R.R. Martin, he of "Game of Thrones" fame, visited the New York Jets in training camp. He's a big fan, you know. He spent an afternoon watching practice, schmoozing with a few players and entertaining general manager Mike Maccagnan, who was starstruck by the famous author.
Happy times.
Martin's mood turned dark on Monday, when he ripped the Jets (and the New York Giants) on his personal blog. Sounding very much like a disgruntled fan on a radio call-in show, Martin criticized both teams for their play calling in losses to the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots.
