The Jets had a decision to make on Tuesday regarding reserve tackle Ben Ijalana, and they made it. The team declined his contract option, rendering him a free agent. The move frees near $5 million in cap space. A no-brainer, considering Ijalana played in just 11 games last season with zero starts.
And New York wasn't the only team to do a little pre-free agency cleaning.
The Bucs cut running back Doug Martin. The Texans released linebacker Brian Cushing. Over the next several days, teams will continue to purge their rosters of veterans on ugly deals.
So what other guys could the Jets let go?
