Former Jets center Nick Mangold officially called it a career Tuesday, when the Jets honored him with a retirement press conference.
He had a long and successful football career, spending all of it with the Jets, from 2006-16. But he is still just 34 years old. So what is next for him? Could he maybe get involved in politics?
In February, Essex County Republican Chairman Al Barlas said Mangold was considering running for the 11th district congressional seat that will be vacated by 71-year-old Republican Rodney Frelinghuysen's retirement.
