Antonio Cromartie injury not nearly as bad as it looked

The Jets caught their first lucky break of the season Monday when the MRI exam of cornerback Antonio Cromartie’s left knee showed no torn ligaments.

Cromartie was diagnosed with a sprained knee, and is considered week-to-week. The Jets said they have not ruled him out of Monday’s game against the Colts in Indianapolis yet.

It looked scary when Cromartie fell to the MetLife Stadium turf in the second quarter of Sunday’s game with the Browns without having been touched. His knee hyperextended and then buckled. Cromartie was in obvious pain, pounding the turf as the doctors examined him.
