Todd Bowles held the door as each media member walked out following his brief press conference on Friday afternoon at the Jets practice facility in Florham Park, N.J. It seemed a little strange considering most head coaches are treated like royalty, especially when they’re in their own building.
“I’m not in a hurry,” Bowles said. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Once general manager Mike Tannenbaum was fired and replaced by John Idzik, Rex Ryan was on the clock for the last two seasons understanding his job security was season-to-season if not day-to-day. It created a tense sense of urgency and added an element of pressure — as if competing in the NFL doesn’t offer enough pressure.
