Friday morning at the Jets’ practice facility offered a whole new meaning to calls from fans to “Fire Gase.”
Head coach Adam Gase’s final pre-practice press conference of the season was interrupted by a loud fire alarm at the team’s practice facility, with a repeating message to “please proceed to the nearest exit and leave the building.”
The facility was evacuated for several minutes until the alarm was reset, but Gase didn’t make any mention of the interruption when he resumed his press conference several minutes later.
Gase said offensive linemen Alex Lewis (ankle) and Tom Compton (calf) would not practice for the second straight day, calling it “a very low percentage” that they will play Sunday against the Bills.
