Adam Gase was impressed watching Sam Darnold from afar, and the new Jets head coach seems eager to work with the new quarterback.
“He’s hungry for knowledge, he wants to be coached,” Gase said at his introductory press conference at the team’s complex in Florham Park, N.J. “This is an exciting thing for me to go through.”
The Jets brain trust is confident Gase, who was fired after reaching the playoffs once in three seasons with the Dolphins, will be the right man to develop Darnold, too. During his career, he’s helped quarterbacks like Peyton Manning, Jay Cutler and Ryan Tannehill.
