When Aaron Rodgers‘ name was first floated as a possible New York Jets quarterback target, the most seemingly insurmountable issue was his contract.
The Green Bay Packers dealt with the problem by force, simply leaving the veteran minimum $1.165 million as Rodgers’ 2023 salary while dumping the remaining $107.55 million into 2024. This enabled the completion of the trade but also left some negotiations on the table between the Jets and Rodgers.
As first reported by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Rodgers and the Jets have verbally agreed on a reworked contract.
