Well, if we’re being technically truthful (or truthfully technical), there is this: The Jets’ season did make it beyond Halloween.
As low bars go, yes, that’s an epic pine. But it’s not one that could have been guaranteed at 1-5 two weeks ago, before the Jets held off the Ravens for their first home win of the season. It certainly is not something anyone would have laid a nickel of smart money on a week ago, when the Jets found themselves trailing by the woeful and winless Cleveland Browns by 13 points at halftime.
So here we are, almost a week clear of Halloween, and though the 3-5 Jets are in nobody’s definition of an ideal place, they do have a season intact, and they have a business trip ahead of them Sunday, at Miami, where interesting stuff always seems to happen (both for them and to them) with an opportunity to actually keep their season alive past Election Day, too, and on through Veterans Day.
