In case you haven't heard (and you probably have, because it's been pretty big news), Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has retired from the NFL and moved to the broadcast booth, becoming CBS' new lead NFL analyst.
As a result, ex-Giants quarterback and New Jersey resident Phil Simms, who has been on the CBS A-team since 1998, now has an uncertain future. Twitter may be happy Simms will no longer be calling the network's top games with play-by-play man Jim Nantz, but most are intrigued to see what happens next for Simms.
"We are in the process of discussing with Phil what his role will be going forward, but I'm hoping that Phil can remain part of the CBS team," CBS sports boss Sean McManus said on a Tuesday conference call.
