In each of his first two years as the New York Jets‘ general manager, Joe Douglas had enough cap space to spend freely on the free-agent market. The Jets have been fairly active on the free-agent market while not being overly aggressive with huge contracts. As a result of his budgeting, the Jets are once again in a position to accumulate several impactful free agents in 2022.
Douglas signed seven new players to the team over the first two weeks of free agency in 2020. Throughout the first two weeks of 2021, Douglas acquired 12 free agents.
