Jets GM Mike Maccagnan still has a lot of work to do regarding roster construction. He made some deft moves in free agency. But he must get things right, in terms of draft selections, UDFAs, and tryout invitees.
Maccagnan seems to have a fondness for small-school grinders. But things did not work out with Dylan Donahue (West Georgia) and Deon Simon (Northwestern State), and may not with Nathan Shepherd (Fort Hays State) or Trenton Cannon (Virginia State).
Non-FBS prospects are difficult to evaluate due to the lower level of competition.
