What's gone on since Sunday for the Jets? Lots of little things, really. Here's a recap.
+ There was concern that Antonio Cromartie would not sign with the Jets after being their second choice for cornerback. Well. Apparently Cromartie’s ego does not mind being the Jets’ second choice for cornerback, not if it means four years and $32 million. After losing Nnamdi Asomugha to Philly last week, the Jets re-signed Cromartie on Monday, but he does warn that he has a chip on his shoulder.
+ The Jets also re-signed linebacker David Harris to a four year, $36 million deal with $29.5 million guaranteed. Harris is part of the “Core Four” – a name given to him, cornerback Darrelle Revis, left tack D’Brickashaw Ferguson, and center Nick Mangold, who were all drafted by the Jets in 2006 and 2007. Harris is the last one to receive a contract, but the four of them are now signed through at least 2013. Harris now has the second biggest defensive contract on the team, after Revis.
+ Wide receiver Jericho Cotchery is supposedly being dangled as trade bait to free up cap space, but he is brushing off the rumors and getting to work. "That's not where my focus is. I'm just trying to get back on the field," he said. Cotchery is currently on the physically-unable-to-perform list, recovering from a herniated disc in his back.
+ Rex Ryan has a new tattoo that means "Believe in yourself." Yeah. Like he needed a tattoo to help him with that. Here's a photo:
