In tonight's edition of Jets news, former Miami Dolphins tight end Jermichael Finley will be having an X-ray on his injured neck on Monday in order to see if he can make it back in time for the 2014 NFL season. If all is clear, the New York Jets may be players in the race to acquire the former Green Bay Packers standout.
Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, "according to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, that X-ray will be done in Arizona on Monday with MRI and CAT scans to follow if all looks good on the X-ray. Pelissero reports that Finley is “on track,” but that it remains “unclear” when he’ll be given the green light by doctors to resume his career."
Along with the New York Jets, the Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins have been rumored to have interest in bringing the six-year veteran aboard via free agency.
Of course everything is subject to how these teams attack their needs at the tight end position come raft time, but Finley should have no trouble finding a place to play if everything comes back clear on Monday.
