3 Draft Day Trades The New York Jets Could Make

The New York Jets had another disappointing season in 2014 as they went just 4-12. They obviously some areas they need to address to get back to playoffs, so they may make a splash on draft day via a trade or draft pick. While we’re not necessarily expecting any of these trades to happen, we wouldn’t be surprise. Here are 3 draft day trades the Jets could make when the 2015 NFL Draft rolls around:

1) Trade 1st-round pick (#6) to Eagles for multiple picks

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly hasn't been shy about how much he loves Marcus Mariota as a quarterback, and he wants to do whatever it takes to get him. New York would be willing to move back in the draft for a deal similar to what the Washington Redskins gave the St. Louis Rams for Robert Griffin III, which included three first-round picks and a second-round pick.

2) Trade 1st-round pick (#6) to Browns for two 1st-round picks (#12, #19)

The Browns are the other team that really covet Mariota, but they're out of position to draft him. They have two first round picks in the middle of the draft, so they wouldn't have to give up as much as the Eagles. The Jets do need a quarterback, but they also have a lot of other needs they would fill with two first round picks.

3) Trade 2nd-round pick (#37) and 4th-round pick (#104) to Cardinals for 1st-round pick (#24)

New York will take care of one need by drafting a pass rusher at No. 6 overall, but they could trade back into the first round to grab one of the top running backs in the class. Arizona doesn't have any pressing needs, so they might be willing to trade out of the first round to get an extra pick. If they make this move, the Jets will probably draft Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon to pair with Chris Ivory in their backfield.
