NEW YORK -- The New York Islanders have signed Joe Whitney, James Wright and four other forwards to one-year, two-way contracts.

The team announced the signings Thursday. Justin Florek, Ben Holmstrom, Bracken Kearns and Justin Vaive also joined the team.
