I could say 200 things about how much I appreciate John Tavares and all the things he's done and continues to do for the Islanders, but that would take a lot of time. Instead, I'll watch and rewatch his 200th career goal, scored today at TD Garden against Tuukka Rask and the Boston Bruins.
The Islanders had a good second period shift in the Bruins' zone (a rarity to that point in the game), and Kyle Okposo takes the puck off a defenders stick behind the net. Okposo falls in his attempted wraparound, but Tavares is there to backhand the puck over Rask's shoulder into the top corner.
