VANCOUVER, British Columbia — With only two picks in the first four rounds — for now — it seems as if the Islanders’ focus going into the NHL draft Friday night is on the big picture. That would include the future of two big free agents in recently minted Masterton Trophy-winning goalie Robin Lehner and first-year captain Anders Lee, both set to be unrestricted free agents July 1.
“Robin would like to come back, we’d like Robin to come back. We’ll continue to work at it,” team president Lou Lamoriello said after the GM meetings. When he was asked if it was the same situation for Lee, he replied, “Yes.
