Joe Pavelski put home a redirection with just over 2 minutes left in the third period and the Sharks edge the Islanders 3-2.
The Islanders did not start off the game in a great way. They were supposed to be the fresher team after the Sharks and Rangers tangled last night, combining for 11 goals in a 7-4 Rangers win. Just 5:36 in, Melker Karlsson scored his first of the season to give the Sharks the early 1-0 lead.
The Islanders showed some fight in the second led by the youngest member of the team, Anthony Beauvillier.
