Rookie camp ends as training camp begins.

Today is the report day for many NHL camps, including the Islanders. According to Andrew Gross, today is media day. Interviews will happen then, with GM Lou Lamoriello and coach Barry Trotz set to speak.

Now that training camp is actually here, we’re about to see some real RFA drama. I’m licking my lips.

• Last night was the end of rookie camp, culminating in a rookie scrimmage against the Flyers in Allentown, PA. The Isles kiddies came back from a three-goal deficit to win in the shootout 5-4. [Islanders | Newsday]
