Red Wings 2, Islanders 1: Late Raymond goal sinks Isles

Remember when Islanders-Red Wings games were kind of wacky? That 5 minute major that the Islanders scored multiple goals on, the time Josh Bailey got into a fight...

Now they’re just fairly depressing (and even worse, boring!) The New York Islanders got outplayed in Detroit, and could only beat Alex Lyon once on an early Simon Holmstrom goal. They were out-shot and largely out-played throughout the game, but still managed to hold on to a one goal lead thanks to Ilya Sorokin, until things fell apart in the last 5 minutes of the third period.

Even though the Isles are still dealing with some key injuries, this is just not good enough for a team that claims to be competitive.
