The Islanders clinched their third-straight postseason berth with a 3-0 win against the Rangers Saturday night. Who knew that would be the nail in the coffin for Rangers President John Davidson and general manager Jeff Gorton, as they were both fired Thursday.

Barry Trotz’s team went up to Buffalo for a back-to-back and lost both to the Sabres sixth-string goaltender, Michael Houser.
