Kevin McGran of the Toronto Star: (mailbag) Whatever amount of money William Nylander is asking for, he’s not going to get it, even if he might deserve it.
McGran notes: “And if he’s really hoping for $8 million, don’t vilify him. The question isn’t really: Is he worth $8 million now? It’s just as valid to ask whether he’s worth $8 million seven or eight years from now. Betting he’ll be a bargain by then.”
If Toronto Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas ends up giving ‘more’ to Nylander, he’ll then have to ‘more’ to Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews on their next deals – so it’s not going to happen.
