After about three and a half hours, the New York Islanders finally selected winger Alexander Ljungkrantz out of Brynas IF in Sweden. Ljungkrantz seems like a reach in the third round, with one of the few scouting reports on him projecting that he’d be a decent pickup in one of the later rounds of the draft.
Ljungkrantz scored 27 points (15 goals, 12 assists) in 42 games for Brynas’s U20 team, and scored one SHL goal in 3 games last season (stats via EliteProspects).

Most recent team is SHL's Brynas
Has solid awareness off the puck, can generate speed up the ice & his wrist shot has some power behind it as well.
