New York Islanders Wasting Historic Offensive Season

The New York Islanders currently sit one ROW out of the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. They are 5-4-1 in their last ten and the defense has been nothing short of abysmal. Halak is stealing games, such as his 46 save performance against Columbus on Saturday Night.

Mathew Barzal leads NHL rookies in scoring with 53 points in 53 games and has no doubt been the team’s most important offensive player. Tavares has been good, but not great. I haven’t seen the John Tavares of usual, he’s been invisible in quite a few games recently.
