It was no secret, 2017-2018 was a year to forget for Thomas Greiss. Greiss, who was extremely effective with the New York Islanders for his first two years really struggled in year three. Greiss posted a .892 save percentage and a 3.82 goals against average.
Now, through six starts Thomas has proved that last year was the outlier and not the norm. He’s 4-2 with a .944 save percentage and a 1.85 goals against average.
Clearly, the Mitch Korn and Piero Greco effect is making a legit difference for both Greiss and Robin Lehner.
